Brooks green silence how many miles

The best i have run in. I just picked up a pair and did 4 miles on the teadmill so take this with a grain of salt. I went with my regual shoe size and there was enough room in the toe box so they fit. I normally wear 1 size up in any running shoe. Thinking the Kinvaras will be training only, especially recovery days.

May race 10k in either the Green Silence or the Zoom Streaks. Going to try and find these today. Got my first pair and loved them so much pruchased a 2nd pair. Doing mile runs in them every other day, and have had zero issues with them.

Definetly recommend these shoes. As mentioned in the review they have a nice roomy toe box, which is a big plus. Own 3 pairs now, almost any many as VFFs. I love these shoes for distance, still VFFs x a week for feet strengthing. Brooks website has a better color selection then the on-line or retail stores. Now in Afghanistan and ordered my 4th pair straight from Brooks.

These are my 1 shoe for gym, and running. Brooks site also has a few new color choices to choose from. I would stay away from the Green pair though. I bought these 6 weeks ago and blew out the side after miles??

I will try to return them to the running store I bought them from and see what they say. How are they lasting for others, anyone got to miles or more??

I just tried on a pair and loved them. I have tried the Kinvara, the mirage, etc. Hi Pete! Thanks for the helpful review. I currently run in Nike LunarGlides slight support and old Nike Tri-Ds but want to add a pair of lighter, more minimal shoes to my rotation.

Do you think these would be an issue for someone who is a slight overpronator? The Green Silence felt great when I tried them on in my local store, though I only got to run around the block in them!

Great review and summary of what I consider the best priced and built running shoe. Recently the Launches flet too heavy and I could feel a definite urge to go faster.

Thinking of going for the Green Silence. Any thoughts? Thanks for your time and keep the site going. Been a long time since I ran in the T6, but my recollection would be that the GS is maybe a bit softer, but also has a lower heel.

I would not say it offers a whole lot more support. Maybe something from the Pure series? Thanks for the reply. Tried one run in the G. While I liked the low profile they are too wide and felt flat and floppy. The T-6 gives same level of support and gives a faster feel.

Thanks again for your feedback, take care. Thanks Pete. My other Brooks fit great. I did not like the PureFlow because it felt very overly soft to me preferred the Launch for regular trainers, since despite being soft, it seemed to respond a little better. The Free 3. I liked the Ronin 4 and Mach 13 spikeless a lot, though the Ronin feels much more like a traditional flat than the PureConnect did, and the Mach feels like an XC spike with blanks in it for obvious reasons.

I have since put in a lot more mileage doing speed work on the track, walking my dogs daily, and wearing it for work. This shoe is definitely multi-functional for my lifestyle — dress, casual, exercise.

For a racing flat, the shoe is actually pretty flexible and definitely not stiff. The heel counters are made of recycled compact discs; shoe laces, meshes, linings, gillies, and tongue webbings are made from recycled water bottles; and outsoles are made of recycled rubber. Hopefully this will inspire other footwear manufacturers to rethink their green strategy.

It seemed the 10mm midsole on the forefoot is just enough cushioning for transitioning runners and maybe a little too thick for running on tartan tracks. I get asked by many non-runners about the Green Silence.

They liked the look and its green qualities but are shocked to learn that it is a performance racing shoe. Running Warehouse describes the Green Silence as such:. The Green Silence is a minimum feature, minimum neutral shoe designed for speedwork and racing.

It is built with a curved shape. BioMoGo full-length midsole offers resilient cushioning and is made of environment-friendly, biodegradable materials. Element Mesh is a moisture-managing, breathable mesh upper. Synthetic Overlays are strategically located to provide a snug, secure fit. HPR Green in the forefoot is made with environmentally-friendly materials and offers durable, skid-resistant traction in dry and wet conditions.

I have a new pair with 6 miles on them and will run Rocket City marathon this weekend in them. Love the new black and green. I agree on the mid-sole comment, after miles my first pair only show wear on the ball of the foot, none on heel. How is the fit? I am looking for another minimal option for next year. Green Silence seems like a good choice, and I love that fact that they are animal-free. Ah, thanks. So why my toenails got beat up remains a mystery….

Sounds like an excellent idea to have shoes made out of recycled stuff. I decided to give them a shot anyways and got the Kinvaras. How could it be close to the VFFs with that thick sole? Does anyone know what the sole is like on the terra plana evos and how they compare to VFFs.

I read a review that said the soles soak up water like a sponge. I initially found the laces slightly uncomfortable across the top of my foot, but they have softened up a bit. I normally run in Vibrams but wanted to work something else into my rotation.

Vegetarian, Vibrams, Green Silence…feeling close to you right now. Bought a pair in mid Sept and wore them a few times before setting a Half PR in the them in early Oct. I had a hard time finding a pair of flats that fit my wide feet. No luck with Kinvara or any Nike shoe. Green Silence were perfect. Plus I love the black and green. No hesitation in wearing them in 2 weekends for the Philly marathon. Good info. These sound pretty cool.

Something quicker to get on. Any experience with other barefoot shoes? In the end I stayed with my KSOs. I was looking at those. Someone said the toe box might be narrow. I love these shoes so much that I have two pair.
