Can i jungle with nocturne without runes

Nocturne thrives more in split-push scenarios than team fights, so you and TF can use your ults to keep the enemy team off balance and keep rotating to pick off enemies with a numbers advantage. Kennen usually top lane has good synergy with Nocturne since he has a ton of up-front damage and crowd control for team fights.

He provides so much disruption that he can serve as your team's primary engage and buy you some time to kill a priority target without being focused down. If he's your top laner you may be lacking a real tank, so it'd be helpful to get a tanky support on your team to tank baron later in the game. Lulu can bail you out if you overextend for a kill and keep you alive in fights where you'd otherwise be focused and killed.

A lulu on your team also means the enemy team won't have one, which is a big plus. Similar to Lulu, Zilean can help you survive, and by having one on your team the enemy won't be able to pick him to counter your burst. Strong engage supports are great for setting up kills on the enemy bottom lane. Rakan is a pretty safe laner he should be able to hold his own until you can get your ult. In both ganks and team fights, his setup is really helpful for securing kills. Alistar offers both frontline and engage, both of which Nocturne sorely lacks.

The only downside here is you can't take advantage of his early gank reception as well as other junglers, but once you have your ult you should be able to pick up some easy kills in the bot lane. He can engage team fights later too which is great. Leona has some good synergy with Nocturne for similar reasons to Alistar. She's a little risky early game, but If you can make it to level 6 without your bot lane losing, you should be happy with Leona for the rest of the game.

Kassadin has some huge advantages but a couple big weaknesses. His waveclear is rather poor and he's often kinda helpless in the early game.

Unfortunately, Nocturne isn't a great jungler for offsetting that early weakness. However, if Kassadin makes it to lvl 6, you two are a force to be reckoned with.

Work together to get kills and feed your Kassadin enough and he'll take over the game by lvl 16 if it isn't over by then. A snowballing Kassadin deals a ton of magic damage and will force the enemy to build magic resist, so they won't have enough gold to counterbuild you both.

Fizz's ultimate virtually guarantees a kill on any target it hits if you focus the same one. Once you get him rolling, he should be able to kill his target on his own and you can focus on another enemy.

Fizz's ult also serves as a great team fight engage which Nocturne lacks, so he's not bad in a 5v5. The main weakness here is he doesn't have safe waveclear, so you might run into problems stalling games if you fall behind. Globals are always good when stacked.

If Karthus ults when you go in, you're almost guaranteed to kill your target. Karthus doesn't even have to leave lane to help out. He also offers a ton of magic damage to your team so the enemy won't be able to stack armor against you. Ashe's ultimate is a super great tool to have on your team since it can lock down a target long enough for you to kill them before they can retaliate or escape. However, she's a bit defenseless without her ult and you can't really peel or frontline for her.

If your team has a good peel support like Janna, Lulu or Tahm Kench, this pick can work out really well. This combo is better than it seems on paper. While you don't work particularly well in 2v1s or 2v2s, Vlad can survive laning on his own and avoid ganks while you farm. You can carry your side laners with post-6 ganks, while Vlad scales up to carry late game in case your team can't close the game.

Vlad also has a lot of dive threat and deals high magic damage, making it difficult for enemy carries to survive both of you in team fights. Malphite's ridiculously strong 5v5 makes up for your relatively weak team fighting. If both teams group and Malphite lands a good R, you can win the fight.

If the teams are split, you're at an advantage due to your R. The only downside of this combo is that Malphite is weak to lane counterpicks and you won't be able to help him much early. Having an AP top laner is usually beneficial since the enemy won't be able to build armor for free. Morde has strong, safe split-pushing and he's also pretty decent in team fights. He can take out annoying enemies like Lulu so they can't peel for their teammates, while you dive the carries.

The only downside to this combo is you can't help her get pre-6 kills very easily. That said, Diana is still pretty safe on her own and can usually farm until 6 without much help. Sion can be pretty helpful since he provides a frontline and can function as a decent splitpusher or an engage tank. You don't have any exceptional synergy with him directly but he's a good champion to help round out your team comp.

Ahri can catch enemies and chunk them for you to finish off, and she's pretty independent in lane so you won't need to help her much early. While your team fighting will be a little bit weak, the two of you can generate a lot of picks and take objectives during enemy death timers.

It also means Ahri won't be on the enemy team! Annie provides reliable Crowd Control and a fairly stable laning phase. Tibbers is also another body in team fights than can help relieve pressure off of you when you're diving the backline. Follow up her stuns with your ult to ensure the target dies, since she won't have enough damage to one-shot people until she's fed.

While he's not as great at splitting up the enemy team, Maokai has a lot of CC and point-and-click lockdown that makes it easy to find kills 2v1. If Maokai can get on a vulnerable carry, they're virtually guaranteed to die. Twitch can be pretty effective since he can use his camouflage to ambush targets and you can back him up with your ult. However, this requires your Twitch player to be competent and you can still get crushed in draft if the enemy has heavy dive champions, so don't assume the game's a free win just because you have a Twitch.

Kled offers good engage and he gets pretty tanky so he can serve as a frontline. The main downside is that you deal the same damage type so you can both become kinda useless against enemies with a lot of armor. His R's movement speed boost is also pretty useless if you're ulting in anyway.

His high waveclear can buy you time in even or losing games where you need some time to farm before you lose all your towers. He can also ult and try to hit any target you're focusing. Even 1 or 2 hits on your target can be enough extra damage to get the kill. This combo is pretty good because Volibear can deal a decent amount of magic damage and he has a lot of presence in fights. His Q and R can help him get on top of targets while you follow up and dive with your R.

While you're not the ideal ball delivery system, you can sometimes pull off a Paranoia-Shockwave combo on grouped enemies. More commonly, Orianna will land her own R and you can follow up to burst the enemies she's caught out.

She's also fairly independent in lane and can defend towers well to prevent the enemy team from grouping to siege. LeBlanc's lack of safe waveclear and her strong early gank reception makes this a less than ideal pairing. She works better with an early game jungler that can help her snowball. That said, if you make it through the early game and can roam for picks together, this combo can be pretty deadly to enemy carries.

Talon usually in mid usually doesn't need your help to kill his targets and doesn't really offer much setup for you. His presence on your team often results in full physical damage compositions and he's not great at team fighting or waveclearing. You'll have trouble coming from behind if you have Talon and Nocturne on the same team and the enemies can build armor to counter both of you. Not an ideal pairing. I'm not a fan of Bard since his ultimate is more likely to screw up your dive than it is to be helpful.

The stasis mostly buys time to get closer to your enemies, but you can gap-close with your ultimate so it's not necessary. You also can't take good advantage of his early Magical Journey ganks since you won't have a gap closer until level 6.

If possible I'd look for a different support. I don't really like this pairing since Fiora really doesn't need your help to kill her lane opponent in the side lane as long as she can get to her power spikes.

She benefits more from a jungler with early presence that can get her going. The one upside is her split-push can prevent the enemy team from grouping as 5, which makes your life easier. Irelia is kinda like Yasuo in that she tends to play really aggressively especially if she's mid and you can't support her very well early.

Enemies will build armor to counter both of you if either of you is strong. This pairing can work if your comp has strong magic damage threats and Irelia has a good lane matchup, but in general I'd avoid it.

You and Zed have similar strengths and weaknesses good burst and 1v1, poor team fighting so your team will be very weak 5v5 and the enemy will likely be building armor to counter you both. The main way to make this combo work is to have strong magic damage threats elsewhere in your team, and Zed needs to split-push to prevent the enemy team from grouping. Yasuo is a hyper-aggressive champion who really needs jungle presence to ensure they don't get camped for free.

You don't have the time to babysit him and get him fed, and both of you are countered by armor items like Zhonya's. You also have no knockups to help him ult.

If your yasuo player has a negative win rate, you should probably dodge. Join or Log In. Join the leading League of Legends community. Create and share Champion Guides and Builds. Login Social Login. Hi, I'm PsiGuard and welcome to my Nocturne guide. I've been playing League of Legends since November in Season 1 and have been maining jungle since the start of Season 3. I have experience against Diamond, Master and Challenger players through solo queue, ranked teams and tournament games.

If you have any questions about the guide, feel free to leave me a comment! Without further ado, let's get into the guide. About Nocturne. He excels at picking off isolated targets and diving vulnerable enemies with limited durability or mobility. Nocturne works well as a followup to allies who can lock down enemies for him to finish off and can support his team through map pressure once he unlocks Paranoia.

His ability to quickly rotate with his ultimate also allows him to punish split-pushers and enemies who are farming while isolated. Nocturne's main weaknesses are his lack of utility and tankiness. He makes for a fairly mediocre frontliner and lacks reliable crowd control to lock down enemies or initiate fights himself. These weaknesses make him an unreliable team fighter, as he can only really go all-in on a backliner and doesn't offer anything else to his team.

Against teams with high peel or mobility, Nocturne can have trouble securing kills and impacting the game. Nocturne's early game ganks are also unremarkable, as he relies mostly on his ultimate to reliably reach his targets. Drafting Nocturne. You can one-trick Nocturne if you want, but picking him every game will sometimes put you in a disadvantageous situation.

In this chapter I'll cover the factors you should consider before locking in Nocturne. Jungle Spawn Timers. Plants are stationary, neutral units with 1 health. They can be destroyed with a basic attack to trigger an effect. Three different types of plants will spawn in the jungle and river. Their spawn timers and locations vary slightly but for the most part they are fairly predictable.

The first spawn locations for all plants are predetermined. How to Ward Safely If you've played League of Legends, you've probably died trying to ward a dark part of the map.

It's an easy trap to fall into, since it's natural to want to light up dangerous areas of the map. In order to avoid this common pitfall, it's important to look at the map and go through a quick mental check to decide if it's safe to ward and how deep you can extend for vision.

How many enemies are missing? If I run into them, can I escape? Do my nearby laners have lane priority? Have I seen the enemy jungler elsewhere recently? Do I have any allies nearby that can rotate to help me ward safely? Clearing Tips. Blue: Kite back every attacks don't leave your dusk trail though. Gromp: Kite after every attack for the first 3 attacks Gromp has higher AS for its initial attacks. Cast Duskbringer twice add Unspeakable Horror with Blue buff.

Wolves: Cast Duskbringer , attack the large Wolf, then attack each of the smaller Wolves once Umbra Blades will take care of them after that. Cast Duskbringer only once or twice with Blue buff. Raptors: Cast Duskbringer , hit all Raptors with Umbra Blades , then attack the smaller raptors to weaken them keep switching targets. Your second Umbra Blades should clear most of them out. Red: Kite back every 3 attacks when possible don't leave your dusk trail though.

Krugs: Focus the biggest Krug first use Smite if this is your second camp while kiting around the smaller Krug. Use Duskbringer twice add Unspeakable Horror with blue buff. Jungle Routes. If you see a gank opportunity mid after getting level 3 from Raptors, you can swing through mid for a gank.

If you have a matchup advantage and lane priority, you can contest scuttle on spawn after 5 camps. If you'd rather avoid the enemy jungler no priority or bad matchup , take Gromp to hit level 4, then determine which scuttle the enemy jungler will take and take the opposite one they'll usually take the opposite scuttle to where they started.

Leashless Route Wolves Start Wolves, Red, Krugs: This is a leashless route you can use to get level 3 without showing your starting location, and also allowing you to path towards your Red. Start Q and focus the large wolf, casting Q twice on the first camp.

After hitting level 3 off Krugs, you can: Gank the nearby side lane. Invade the enemy Blue jungle. Clear your Raptors and then contest either scuttle. If you contested the scuttle near your Raptors, you can transition gank mid and try to get the other scuttle. If you contested the scuttle near your Blue, you can clear Blue, Wolves and Gromp afterwards, then Recall and head to your Krugs for a full clear.

I recommend getting a bot lane leash if you plan on starting blue. Have you ever walked into river to take the scuttle crab, only to be met by members of the enemy team? Did you die and feel the urge to blame your dumb laners for not coming to help you?
